Originally launched in 2020 as #DeepWeek, and transitioning to #DeepDay in 2022, #DeepDay is an opportunity to amplify support for the deep and celebrate this critical environment for all of humanity.

On #DeepDay, the DSCC invites you, our members, scientists, artists, politicians, students or anyone who cares about the ocean to reflect on just how important the deep sea is. Together, we highlight the key threats facing the deep ocean, including the nascent deep-sea mining industry and bottom trawling on vulnerable marine ecosystems.

On #DeepDay we showcase what’s happening across the deep-sea community, and dive down into the largest habitat on Earth to #DefendTheDeep.
