Saswati Swetlena is a social development professional with over two decades of experience working with diverse civil society organizations, grassroots communities, and networks both in India and globally. Her work has focused on human rights, gender justice, reclaiming community rights over natural resources, and promoting governance accountability.
She has served as the National Coordinator of the Mineral Inheritors Rights Association, a coalition advocating for transparency, accountability, and justice in the extractive sector. She has been a Global Council member of Publish What You Pay and continues to contribute to its Asia Pacific Transition Minerals Accountability Working Group. Saswati has also been an active voice in the dialogues on Coastal and Ocean Commons, advocating for the protection of these vital ecosystems from commercial exploitation while supporting the livelihoods, cultural heritage, and identities of fish workers and coastal communities.
